SRINAGAR, Apr 2: In a mysterious blast at Boulevard in Srinagar on the banks of Dal lake today, a car was damaged and an elderly couple escaped unhurt.

Police said a blast took place in the rear of a Honda City vehicle bearing number JK01M 0878 at Boulevard road. An elderly couple Hafizullah Bhat and his wife, residents of Kralsangri, Nishat were in the vehicle and escaped unhurt.
“Prima facie the blast looks like some equipment failure. The Police Team is at the spot,” he said.
However, the wife of Bhat said that something exploded on the road in which the car was damaged.
Senior Police and para-military officials reached the spot and assessed the situation.
