REASI, Nov 19: In order to create awareness among the female voters, hundred of girl students from Government Girls Higher Secondary School held an awareness rally.
The rally which was flagged off by DDC Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary was a part of massive “Special Voters Awareness Drive” launched in District Reasi earlier this month under SVEEP.
The aim of the rally was to create awareness regarding importance of vote and electoral participation which was highlighted by the school girls.
Speaking on the occasion Dr Choudhary said through these rallies, the students attempted to convey a subtle message and tell people the importance of their votes in deciding the future of the country.
The students will also carry this message to their homes, he added.
He further said that for the purpose of increasing participation of voters, all departments have been asked to carry out massive public campaigns with special focus on women and youth. Educational institutions are focused especially and awareness through anganwardi workers are also planned, he added.
A well planned strategy to ensure increased voter turnout in district has been made and a series of outreached measures like debates, processions, street plays and quiz competition are being organized, Dr Choudhary informed.
