AJKPC launches mass awareness campaign about 73rd Amendment

JAMMU, Nov 19: All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference (AJKPC),  an amalgam organization of elected Panchayat representatives that has been spearheading the  Panchayat Rights movement, today  launched a mass awareness campaign to educate people about the benefits of implementing the provisions of 73rd Amendment of Indian Constitution here in the State.
Anil Sharma, president of the organization, formally inaugurated the mass awareness program with unfolding a long banner inked with point wise detail of all the benefits of 73rd Amendment of the Constitution. He along with other senior leaders of AJKPC including Kulbushan Khajuria, additional general secretary, Gautam Singh provincial  president, Alam Chaudhary,  State  secretary, Madan Lal,  provincial secretary,   Raj Kumar, provincial  vice president also displayed other  pamphlets in English, Urdu and Hindi carrying the message about the benefits available to villagers if 73rd Amendment is  implemented and have also sought people’s cooperation.
Explaining the motive for launching the awareness campaign, Anil informed the media persons that their organization has been raising voice for strengthening the Panchayati Raj Institutions in Jammu and Kashmir which is the only solution to bring peace and prosperity in the State.
Giving open challenge to the political leaders, especially the National Conference and other opponents of 73rd Amendment, the AJKPC president invited them for public debate to prove the fact about unnecessary myth that 73rd Amendment if implemented in J & K would affect special status of the State enshrined to it under Article 370.
Kulbushan Khajuria, additional general secretary informed that by 31st December, the AJKPC would distribute at least one lakh pamphlets in Hindi, Urdu and English.
