Mayor, JMC Commissioner to participate in South Asian Cities Summit at Delhi on Apr 6

JAMMU, Apr 4: The two -days 6th International South Asian Cities Summit will be held at New Delhi on April 6 and 7 which is being organised by All India Institute of Local Self Government (AIILSG).
The Summit will be preceded by one day Women Leadership Workshop tomorrow.
A B Magotra, J&K Regional Director All India Institute of Local Self Government told Excelsior that Mayors, Municipal Commissioners across the country including Commissioner Secretaries of Housing and Urban Development of some states & UTs, besides 57 International delegates including from countries of Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Thailand, Bangladesh, Singapore etc are attending the Summit.
The conference will be inaugurated by Union Minister, Jal Shakti, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, he said, adding different issues including Urban Water Scarcity Management and preservation of Urban Heritage and how to meet this challenge will be discussed in the Summit.
He said the Jammu Municipality will be represented by Mayor, Rajinder Sharma and Commissioner, Rahul Yadav.
He said Mayor Jammu, Rajinder Sharma will take up the issues of water preservation, lanes and drains and other concerning development in the Summit.
