BLSKS organizes workshop on ‘Duggar Folk Culture’

JAMMU, Apr 4: To promote the rich traditional culture of J&K, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) here today organized a workshop on Duggar Folk Culture in collaboration with Union Ministry of Culture for younger generation under the scheme Preservation and Development of Cultural Heritage of Himalayas.
The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest, V.K Magotra, former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity while Dr. Tara Singh Charak, former Deputy Director J&K Health Department was guest of honour.
Ram Ditta, Bishwa Nath, M.C Kotwal, K.K Joshi and V.K Magotra participated as folk theatre experts of various forms in J&K.
The programme was fully representative of the life of Dogra’s and the music was assisted by music teacher Raju Bajgal.
Welcome address was given by M.L Dogra, chairman BLSKS and he explained aims and objectives of the programme.
The singers, musician and actors who performed in the programme were Usha Handoo, M.C Kotwal, Rajni Gupta, Raju Bajgal, K.K Joshi, Kamla, Chahat Chadha and Bindia Okheda.
