KATHUA, Apr 5: Basohli police has seized one kg of poppy Straw (Bhukki) during a naka at Atal Setu today and arrested two drug peddlers besides seizing the vehicle.
A police team led by Inspector, Jaswinder Singh, SHO Police Station, Basohli under the supervision of SDPO Basohli, Aakash Kohli during routine naka/patrolling duty in its jurisdictional area at Atal Setu bridge Basohli area noticed the movement of one suspicious vehicle (Eco Van) bearing Registration Number JK08K-9103 which was driven by Vinod Sharma, son of Pappi of Janu tehsil, Basohli who was along with his accomplice namely Jevan Lal, son of Baldev of Kardoo tehsil Bani enrouted from Punjab towards Basohli.
During checking one kilogram of Poppy Straw (Bhukki) like narcotics were recovered from their possession. Thereafter all the recovered narcotic substance (Bhukki) as well as vehicle (Eco Van) was seized and two persons were arrested. A case FIR No. 20/2023 U/S 8/15/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Basohli. Further investigation is underway.
