Bail denied to 3 in SI recruitment scam

JAMMU, Apr 6: 2nd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Balbir Lal Jaswal today rejected bail applications of Ashish Yadav, Sunrender Singh and Pawan Kumar, who were involved in SI recruitment scam.
After hearing Advocate Vivek Gaur for the applicants whereas Vijay Kumar APP for the CBI and DP Singh APP, the court observed, “the act of the accused cannot be equated with scams involving millions of rupees. It is an organized crime and offence against the public at large”, adding “the facts of the case are serious in nature if the factum is evaluated as accused succeeded in their design of allowing undeserving candidates to secure the top positions”.
“An ordinary crime generally affects the small number of people and usually as an impact upon the physical well being of the victims. An economic offence on the other hand also adversely affects the psyche of honest citizens”, court said, adding “granting the bail to such offenders where the investigation is underway definitely outrage the sentiments of the public at large and also tend towards the frustration of the investigation”.
With these observations, court denied the bail.
