JAMMU, Nov 20: The irate shopkeepers of Pacca Danga and adjoining areas held a protest demonstration against the Police Department for reopening of the case of clash which was settled down with consensus around 2 years back.
After closing their shops, the shopkeepers assembled at Khelone Wali Gali, Pacca Danga and raised slogans against Police Department for reopening the settled case.
The protesting shopkeepers said that a police party asked them to make bail in the case of clash which had taken place between police and shopkeepers on October 10, 2011.
They added that after the clash police officials had arrived on the spot and found that both were responsible for the clash, so they (police) asked to settle the issue.
They (shopkeepers) questioned that if the issue was not settled then why police asked us to make bail after two years.
Later, police team headed by DySP City Kulbir Handa rushed to the spot, pacified the agitators and resolved the matter amicably.
