Wattal for revival of historic Hindu shrines in Kashmir

JAMMU, Apr 8: While lauding the Prime Minister’s various initiatives regarding the revival of ancient temples and historical places in India, Vishwa Kashmiri Samaj (VKS) convenor, Kiran Wattal expressed hope that such steps would be also taken in Jammu and Kashmir to revive the historical and thousands of years old temples in Valley.
Talking to reporters here, today he said construction of Maa Sharda temple at Teetwal has created a new hope, which has not only been revived but will also become a pilgrimage tourist spot .
While appealing the LG Administration, Kiran Wattal said , the Government should act tough against the encroachers , who have either encroached temple lands, there are many religious places and their managements who have misutilised their powers and position for their self interests.
He demanded that illegal constructions on the temple and shrines land in valley be stopped forthwith.
Wattal expressed the hope that Government would take an initiative for confidence building in the community as it has full in faith in the leadership of Lt Governor.
