UDHAMPUR/POONCH, Apr 8: Seven persons were injured in two separate road accidents in Udhampur and Poonch today.
Reports said five people were injured when a Mini-bus went out of control and collided with a roadside shop in Udhampur area. The Mini bus bearing registration number JK14-5552, was on its way from Jakhani to Udhampur City. The driver lost control over the vehicle and it collided with roadside shop.
The local people and police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to District Hospital, Udhampur.
The injured persons were identified as Priya (21), daughter of Kal Singh of Jakhani; Sheela Devi (60), wife of Sansar Chand of Jakhani; Meenu (50), wife of Darshan Kumar of Jakhani and Shabanam (18), daughter of Sonu of Jakhani.
Meanwhile another pedestrian was injured when he was hit by an unknown vehicle at Garnai, on National Highway in Udhampur. Identified as Rehman Bhat, son of Abdul Bhat of Budgam in Kashmir, he was shifted to District Hospital, Udhampur.
Reports from Poonch said that two persons were injured after a vehicle met with an accident at Mangnar Bari Wala in Poonch district today.
Official sources said that an Alto car bearing registration number JK15- 5293, on way to Jullas from Poonch, when reached Mangnar Bari Wala, skidded off the road and fell on a residential house after its driver lost control. Two persons suffered injuries. They were identified as Irfan Khan (50), son of Mohd Dostan Khan and Mohd Rizwan (6), son of Imran Khan.
“Injured were taken to District Hospital Poonch, where after initial treatment Irfan was referred to GMC Jammu for advanced treatment, while Mohd Rizwan was discharged,” Medical Superintendent said.
Station House Officer, Ranjit Rao said that a case vide FIR number 46/2023 under Sections 279/337 IPC has been registered in Police Station Poonch and investigation taken up.
