SAMBA, Apr 9: Member Parliament, Jugal Kishore Sharma today said that the Rs 5018 crore budget allotted by Narendra Modi Government for Agriculture and allied sectors is guarantee to welfare of farmers in J&K.
The Member Parliament was speaking during a programme organized in Samba by BJP Kissan Morcha to promote organic farming and improving livestock conditions.
The programme held in Samba was specifically designed for the promotion of organic farming. District president, Samba, Mohinder Sharma organized the event. Ex Minister, Chander Prakash Ganga, Kashmir Singh, district president, Samba, Sunil Shastri district president, Rural also attended the programme.
Addressing gathering of party workers and the local farming community, Jugal asserted that it is for the first time in the history of J&K that such a big amount has been sanctioned for agriculture and allied sectors. He said that the framers of the UT should be rest assured that there is no dearth of funds as far as support to farmers, orchardists and livestock rearers is concerned.
Sarabjit Singh Johal laid stress on organic farming and availing the benefits of schemes meant for bovine animals for areas especially falling under the Kandi and plain belts. He asked Morcha members to proactively participate in promoting the BJP’s pro-farmers schemes so that the food producers get maximum benefit of such schemes.
He said that people should extend wholehearted support to the BJP Government at all the platforms to ensure that farmers and all mother sections of society get their due rights and facilities because no other party can guarantee all this in one go.
Prominent among those who were present include Harbans Choudhary and Rohit Verma vice presidents, Suresh Kumar Sharma, secretary Kissan Morcha, Asha Sharma, DDC Member and spokesperson, Kissan Morcha and Radhey Shyam, BDC Chairman and spokesperson, Kissan Morcha.
Later, Jugal Kishore along with Johal addressed another programme at Bishnah which was organised under the chairmanship of Rakesh Pant, general secretary BJP Kissan Morcha J&K.
Jugal asked people to focus on millets and consume Mota Anaj which is beneficial for health as per the experts of the field. He said that organic farming is key to farmers’ welfare and a healthy society thus making it imperative to opt for the same as far as possible.
