POONCH, Apr 9: A double- storey residential house was badly damaged in a fire incident in Barari Chool area of Mandi in Poonch district.
Official sources said that at about 3 PM today, fire broke out in the house of Mohd Rafiq, son of Ahmeda at Barari Chool village in Gagrian area of Mandi tehsil. Immediately after the incident, locals of the area and jawans from nearby 40 RR unit rushed to the site and started extinguishing fire. The sleuths from Fire and Emergency Services also reached and joined operation starts, but fire had already engulfed and damaged a major portion of the house. Mani house hold items and other goods kept inside turned into ashes.
SHO, Mandi Insp Mukhtiar Ali when contacted said that there was no loss of life during the incident, but the house was completely damaged. He said the cause of fire is being ascertained by police.
