450th birth anniversary of Guru Nabhadas Ji Maharaj celebrated

JAMMU, Apr 9: A religious congregation was organised here at Ward number 56, Gangyal, by Nabhadas Sabha to celebrate the 450th birth anniversary of Guru Nabhadas Ji Maharaj.
As per a statement, hundreds of devotees participated in the religious programme. Former Chairman of Municipal Corporation, Jammu, Satish Sharma, also attended the programme.
Addressing the religious gathering, Sharma said that today’s generation should learn from the teachings and life of Guru Nabhadas Ji Maharaj, who dedicated his entire life for the upliftment of the society.
Satish Sharma, who also happens to be the Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee, further said that there is an atmosphere of hatred and fear in the country under the present dispensation.
He said the people sitting at the helm are using their power to further create a wedge between communities and castes.
“But, we should always remember that India is the land of the Gurus, who have taught us to unite people and rise above caste, religious and colour to serve humanity,” he said.
Sharma said that when he was elected as a councillor or Ward Number 56, he got the 100-bedded Rajiv Gandhi Hospital constructed at the cost of Rs 70 crores. Sharma also counted his other achievements while addressing the gathering.
Others, who were present on the occasion included Arjun Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Sherry, Tara Chand, Bitta, Omi, Bobby, Anil Kumar, Rshpal Pala, Sonu Kumar, Rahul Kumar and others.
