KATRA, Apr 10: Continuing its drive against smuggling of narcotics, Katra Police today arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
Reports said that a Police Party of PS Katra, during checking at PCP Balni, recovered 20 grams of heroin like substance from the possession of one Ankush Kumar , son of Mohinder Kumar, resident of Upper Hathal, Sundarbani, Rajouri, A/P Krishna Gali Katra, who was travelling on foot from Reasi side towards Katra.
Police arrested the accused and seized the recovered contraband besides registering a case FIR number 104/2023, under section 8/21/22/ NDPS Act in this connection at Police Station Katra.
In another success, Police party of PS Katra apprehended a pedestrian at Searli and recovered 150 grams of cannabis like substance from his possession. The accused, identified as Vijay, son of Puran Mal of Buchahera, District Kotputli, Rajasthan, was coming from Panthal side towards Katra town. Police arrested the accused and registered a case under NDPS Act.
Both the operations were led by SHO Katra Insp Nishant Gupta under the supervision of SDPO Katra Surinder Singh.
