Ware House traders protest attack on driver

JAMMU, Apr 10: Trading community in Jammu’s Ware House area erupted in anger this evening after one of their drivers was allegedly beaten up by the security of a local BJP leader.
Eyewitnesses said that a load carrier driver, Mohammad Hussain, hit the vehicle of the BJP ST Morcha Vice-President, Parvaz Chouhan, here at Ware House area. In response, they said, the enraged BJP leader and her personal security attacked the driver and beat him to the pulp.
Angry over the attack on their labourer, the trading community at Ware House staged a protest against the BJP leader after which police reached at the spot and pacified the protesters.
“Later, the matter was solved amicably,” eyewitnesses said.
Parvaz Chouhan, the BJP leader, however said, she attacked the load carrier driver only after the latter made attempts to run away from the spot after causing damage to her vehicle.
“When I stopped and asked the load carrier driver as to why he hit my vehicle, he initially tried to escape but later attacked me. In defence, I too responded accordingly,” she clarified on the attack on the driver.
