JAMMU, Apr 10: Hitting out hard at former Chief Minister and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) president, Mehbooba Mufti, BJP national general secretary, Tarun Chugh, who is also party incharge of J&K, today asked her that instead of looking through China and Pakistan spectacles, she must use Indian spectacles to see that how much development has been done in J&K by the Narendra Modi Government.
Launching a scathing attack on Mehbooba Mufti while talking to a news channel, he accused her of “dancing to the tune of foreign forces like Pakistan and China”.
Chugh said it is time that Mehbooba should look at various development works that have been executed during Modi’s term as Prime Minister in J&K.
Accusing the Kashmir centric parties of pushing youth of J&K to terrorism with their anti people and wrong policies over the years, Chugh said Modi Government changed the discourse and replaced terrorism with tourism.
He said J&K has entered a new era where tourism is more important than terrorism now. The youth of the J&K have new dreams in their eyes and they want to compete with the youth of other parts of the country. The J&K is fast moving forward in every sphere of life and the tourism which is the main industry of the UT on which its economy is most dependent is thriving fast and J&K is today one of the best tourism destination of the country, he added.
The BJP national general secretary also took the opposition parties to task for disrupting Parliament session and said that they have wasted a lot of time of Parliament and they continue to do the same. He said the agenda of the country is development, progress and prosperity of people but opposition parties are trying to create impediments in the same. They want to install a weak Government in the country to take nation backward, he added.
Chug said that those political parties who wasted the precious time of the Parliament should tender an apology to the people of this country.
On Rajasthan which is going to polls, he said the Congress party that was given opportunity to serve the people in last elections has failed to come to the expectations of the masses and wasted 55 months by doing nothing on the developmental front. “The people had given opportunity to them but they did nothing”, he added.
He said now the people of the State will say good bye to the party in the elections and there is no fun of holding dharnas by the Cong men in the State. He said the situation has deteriorated in the State on law and order front and it tops in the crime against women.
On J&K, Chugh said that a new history of development is being scripted in the UT. It got Cancer Institute, AIIMS, NIT, Cluster Universities. The UT is far ahead in the country in terms of the tourism sector. But unfortunately Mehbooba Mufti is not watching this development as she is wearing the spectacles of China and Pakistan and looking towards them.
Chugh, while highlighting the development schemes of Modi Government for the UT said that 83186 houses have been given under the Prime Minister’s Awas Yojna (PMAY). He also said that during the Modi Government, 12 lakh LPG connections were given only in J&K. Along with this every citizen of the country has been brought under the ambit of Ayushman Health Card.
Chugh said that new chapters of development are going to start in Jammu and Kashmir under the new housing budget 2023-24. In the budget, emphasis is being laid on promotion of broadband agriculture, making industrial development our own, employment generation, and upliftment of women.
Chugh said that in the general budget of Jammu and Kashmir, Rs 2526.74 crore, Rs 2097.53 crore for health and medical sector, Rs 4169.26 crore for development of rural areas, Rs 1964.90 crore for Power Sector, Rs 7161 crore for Jal Shakti, Rs 2928.04 crore has been proposed for Housing and Urban Development, Rs 1521.87 crore for Education and Rs 4062.87 crore for road and bridge construction. It is now no secret that Kashmir is moving ahead and is ready to touch new dimensions of development, he added.
