RAMBAN, Apr 10: Two Traffic Police personnel including an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) were suspended and a departmental enquiry was initiated against them after a video went viral on social media showing them allegedly taking bribe from a driver at Trishul Morh, Ramban on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
Police sources said that a video was doing rounds on various social media platforms wherein a traffic police cop deployed at Ramban Bazaar to Trishul Morh could be seen indulging in unprofessional conduct by accepting money from a driver at Naka Trishul Morh.
“The Police Department has taken serious note of the incident and placed Selection Grade Constable Mohammed Latief and his In-charge ASI Bini Kumar under suspension with immediate effect,” they said, adding, departmental enquiry has also been initiated against them.
