JAMMU, Apr 11: Suneel Galgotia, Chancellor, Galgotias University, has observed that the New Education Policy (NEP) is set to transform the Higher Education system.
In a statement, he said, the NEP’s implementation has started in the Higher Education with the backing of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the cooperation of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath.
“With Noida’s rapid development, which includes improved law and order and the construction of an international airport, the State (UP) is expected to create 35 lakh jobs in the future,” Suneel Galgotia said.
He said the NEP’s significant benefit is the opportunity for students to obtain multidisciplinary education and entry and exit at their convenience.
“They can select courses based on the demand of the time and their preference instead of being restricted to one stream. During the four-year undergraduate program, students can also withdraw from the course in the first, second, or third year according to their needs and convenience, receiving a certificate, diploma, or degree course certificate after four years of study. Students who drop out can later rejoin to complete the course,” he said.
The Galgotias University Chancellor said that the education industry is also embracing changes that are enticing students. Educational institutions, he said, are implementing rapidly evolving technology into their courses, providing students with high-quality education.
“The youth’s holistic development is taking place with this advancement, and the curriculum is changing in response to the market and industry’s demands. This is also addressing the industry’s complaint that they are unable to find skilled young professionals,” he said.
He said that teachers play a vital role in any educational institution and faculty upgradation is a continuous process of taking the educational institution forward.
He further said, “due to the rapid changes in technology, it is a challenge to provide quality education to students, and teachers must continually update themselves.”
“To accomplish this”, he said, “the educational institutions are collaborating with world-renowned institutions to provide advanced training in AI, ChatGPT, Google Chatboard, Metaverse, ML, Blockchain, and other fields.”
“The higher the level of education quality, the more advanced the faculty of the institution. Teachers interact with students through advanced videos in addition to classroom teaching,” he added.
He said the profit of any educational institution should be determined by how many of its students are employed in the industry.
“Providing industry-oriented education to students is the most significant challenge and success of our time,” said Suneel Galgotia, the Chancellor of Galgotias University.
Citing an example, he said, “coding is in high demand nowadays, and it is now being taught from the first semester itself. With the development of entrepreneurship skills in today’s youth, they are now becoming not just job seekers, but job providers.”
