JAMMU, Nov 21: Legal Metrology Department (LMD) booked Khalsa Electric Company dealing with electric items at Gurudwara Sunder Singh Road for violating Weights and Measures (Enf.) Act 1997 read with Packaged Commodities Rules.
The market checking team of LMD under the supervision of Deputy Controller Enforcement VS Sambyal conducted checking in the premises of Khalsa Electric Company and detected HPL Rakshak MCB packages with smudged/blocked maximum retail price and manufacturing date displayed for sale.
Deputy Controller asked the company employees to justify their position, which they failed.
Accordingly, the Inspector Legal Metrology Jammu Upper Sunil Kumar on the direction of Deputy Controller booked the company, issued seizure memo and took possession of the faulty packages.
The owner of the company has also been showcased to clarify its position with respect to the potential violation.
