JAMMU, Apr 12: In a first in Jammu and Kashmir, a mock drill to check preparedness for future operations of laying Green Corridor intended at saving someone’s life was conducted successfully, here today to facilitate human organ transportation.
The mock drill was conducted jointly by district administration Jammu, Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu, State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTTO) Jammu team, local and traffic police and Airport Authority of India (AAI), as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

The drill started at sharp 10 AM today from GMC Jammu as five boxes with dummy human organs viz. heart, liver, eyes etc in them were taken in an ambulance from the Medical College to Jammu Airport, just within 7 minutes. The ambulance was escorted by police vehicles.
The vehicular movement on route of the ambulance was restricted by cops so that it can reach in minimum time to the Airport. On entire route, the cops were deployed to facilitate transportation of dummy human organs.
