BJP holds Kissan Sammellan

JAMMU, Apr 12: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kissan Morcha Jammu North held farmers Sammellan at village Manyal Brahmana in Marh constituency in which Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha from Jammu Poonch constituency was the chief guest.
Bharat Bhushan, DDC, Chairman, former Minister, Sukhnandan Kumar, DDC, Balbir Kumar, BDC, Surinder Bhagat, district president Jammu North, Omi Khajuria were also present.
Jugal Kishore Sharma while addressing the gathering said that a farmer is back bone of country and its economy. Farmers grow food and provide it to other humans and by improving agriculture leads to nation’s prosperity. He said that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has launched several initiatives and schemes for the benefit of farmers. He, while appraising the schemes said that Pradhan Mantri Kissan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISSAN) launched to provide income support to small and marginal farmers. Under this scheme, farmers receive direct cash transfers of Rs. 6,000 per year in three installments. Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana is a crop insurance scheme that provides coverage to farmers in case of crop loss due to natural calamities, pests, and diseases. Soil Health Card Scheme is an initiative aimed at promoting soil testing and nutrient management for farmers. In addition to it Kissan Credit Card Scheme also provides a credit facility to farmers, he added.
He said that Modi Government has established Kissan Suvidha Kendras to provide farmers with access to information related to agriculture, weather, and market prices. These Kendras help farmers to make informed decisions about their farming practices, reduce the risks associated with farming, and improve their productivity and income. Moreover to give more facilities to the farmers and to meet the shortage of fertilizer Government has reduced the rates of fertilizers and brought it under one head “Bharat Khad”.
Bharat Bhushan DDC Chairman also addressed the gathering and said that J&K UT Government under the guidance of LG Manoj Sinha is taking many steps to double the income of farmers and to fulfill the dream of Modi Ji.
Sukhnandan Kumar, former Minister complimented MP for visiting village Manyal Brahmana and for boosting the moral of farmers. He said that under the stewardship of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi farmers are very happy.
