NEW DELHI, Nov 22: Crude oil futures prices fell by 0.17 per cent to Rs 6,046 per barrel today as participants reduced positions, tracking a weak trend in the Asian region.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in December fell by Rs 107, or 0.17 per cent, to Rs 6,046 per barrel in 760 lots.
In a likewise manner, oil for delivery in January next year shed Rs 9, or 0.15 per cent, to Rs 6,104 per barrel in 49 lots.
Analysts said fall in crude oil futures was attributed to a weak trend in Asian trade as euphoria over bullish US economic data quickly wore off and talks on Iran’s controversial nuclear programme entered the third day.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude for January delivery was down 27 cents to USD 95.17 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange in mid-morning trade today. (PTI)
