Birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar celebrated, martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh remembered

JAMMU, Apr 13: Different organisations here today celebrated the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R Ambedkar and remembered the martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh.
Government Degree College (GDC) Sunderbani celebrated birth anniversary of Dr. B.R Ambedkar. NSS and NCC Unit of the College in collaboration with College Cultural Committee and Department of Punjabi paid floral tribute to Dr. Ambedkar and organised various activities under the guidance of GDC Principal, Prof. Minnie Sharma.
NSS Unit of Government P.G College Rajouri celebrated Dr. B.R Ambedkar Jayanti and organized an essay writing competition under the guidance of Dr. Shamim Ahmed Azad, College Principal.
To celebrate the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R Ambedkar, NSS Unit of GDC Neeli Nallah, Udhampur organized symposium on the topic ‘Contributions of Dr. B.R Ambedkar towards Indian society’. The programme started with paying floral tributes to Dr. Ambedkar by the GDC Principal, Prof. Hans Raj, staff members and students.
NSS Unit of GDC Kathua celebrated the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R Ambedker and remembered sacrifice of Jallianwala Bagh martyrs. Volunteers presented their views on the life, struggle and achievements of Dr. Ambedkar.
Dogra Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar celebrated Dr. B.R Ambedkar Jayanti under the supervision of Managing Director of the School, Gambhir Dev Singh Charak. Devinder Kour, Principal of the School threw light on the importance of the day and talked about the achievements of Dr. Ambedkar. Students also spoke on Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
Delhi Public School Jammu celebrated Ambedkar Jayanti and the students threw light on principles and teachings of Dr. B.R Ambedkar and inspired everyone to uphold the spirit of liberty, justice and fraternity. President RCT, Ajatshatru Singh; Dr. Ritu Singh and Director, S.S Sodhi greeted all on the occasion.
Government Higher Secondary School at village Chirayi under the guidance of its Principal, Shama Devi organised a programme wherein speech was given by Shvina Akhtar on the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R Ambedkar. Floral tributes were paid to Dr. Ambedkar and the students put garlands on his portrait. The school administration also remembered the martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh massacre who sacrificed their lives for their nation.
Students of Birla Open Minds International School organised a programme and talked about Jallianwala Bagh killings. They also highlighted the importance of communal harmony and national integration.
Shiksha Niketan Sr. Sec. School, Jeevan Nagar celebrated the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R Ambedkar. The students spoke on the works of Dr. Ambedkar. Senior BJP leader and former Dy.CM, Kavinder Gupta cleaned the statue of Dr. B.R Ambedkar on the eve of his birth anniversary at Dr. B.R Ambedkar Chowk in Jammu. He said that work done by Dr. Ambedkar in drafting the Constitution of India is phenomenal. Neelam Langeh, president BJP SC Morcha J&K; former MLA, Garu Ram, Jeet Angral and Rekha Mahajan, District president South BJP were also present.
District Congress Committee (DCC) Jammu Rural celebrated the 132nd birth anniversary of Dr. B.R Ambedkar at Muthi. Paying tributes to Dr. Ambedkar, Hari Singh Chib, president DCC Jammu Rural, remembered contribution of Dr. Ambedkar in framing the Indian Constitution. On this occasion, Rajni Bala Councillor of Ward No. 60 and others paid floral tributes to Dr. Ambedkar and remembered his contributions for the downtrodden people of India.
J&K BSP general secretary, Darshan Rana visited village Salehad in Bishnah to oversee the progress of birth anniversary celebration programme of Dr. B.R Ambedkar which will be held tomorrow. He appealed to every BSP worker to work tooth and nail to educate people regarding the hard work done by Dr. B.R Ambedkar to uplift the downtrodden masses.
