KISHTWAR, Apr 13: Police here today arrested a drug smuggler from Chatroo along with 90 gram Cannabis like substance.
On the directions of SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal, a special Naka was laid at Singhpora, Chatroo which was headed by SHO Police Station Chatroo, Inspector Parvaiz Ahmed Khanday under the supervision Dy.SP DAR, Sajjad Khan.
During extensive checking of the vehicles and pedestrians the Naka party observed suspicious movement of a pedestrian who tried to flee the Naka but was overpowered by cops and on his search Charas like substance weighing about 90 gm was recovered and he was arrested.
The narco smuggler disclosed his identity as Abdul Rashid, son of Bahar Ahmed Malik, resident of Singhpora, Chatroo.
In this regard a case in FIR No. 23/2023 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Chatroo and investigation taken-up.
