In his welcome address, Union Minister of State Incharge DoPT (Department of Personnel & Training) Dr Jitendra Singh said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had created public awareness about employment and sources of livelihood other than government jobs and under him, the infrastructure push and Startups generated jobs outside the Government sector.
Dr Jitendra Singh recalled that it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi who, in his Independence Day address of 2015, gave a call for “Startup India Standup India”, which soon turned into a countrywide movement. The result of this is that now the number of Startups in India has gone up from 300 to 400 in 2014 to more than 75,000. Today, we have more than 100 unicorns and India ranks third in the world in Startup ecosystem.
“The Prime Minister has not only scaled up infrastructure development but increased its pace by launching the flagship PM Gati Shakti National Master plan,” he said.
Talking about the construction of rural roads, Dr Jitendra Singh said that till 2014, rural roads of 7000 km in length were constructed since Independence with an expenditure of Rs 1800 crores but in the last 8 years, 12000 km of roads with a financial outlay of just Rs 5000 crores have been constructed.
Dr Jitendra Singh mentioned that the Prime Minister called the country’s attention to the potential of the toy industry thereby resulting in Exports of toys increasing by 61.38% in the last three years. The import of toys has also reduced by 70% in the last three years.
The Minister said that the Prime Minister’s call for Khadi products as part of ‘Khadi for Fashion, Khadi for Nation’ has resulted in Khadi and Village Industries Commission, for the first time, clocking a massive turnover of Rs 1.15 lakh crore, which is unprecedented by any FMCG company in the country.
Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for Power and Industries Krishan Pal Gurjar after distributing appointment letters among the youth in Jammu, slammed the Opposition for trying to bring a “bad name” to India by levelling allegations abroad against the Prime Minister and his Government, saying people have full faith in Narendra Modi.
Speaking to reporters, Gurjar also criticised Rahul Gandhi, alleging “Gandhi Parivar feels that they are above law.”
“It is not about united opposition but about united people of this country. Today, people have full faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Government,” he said.
“People have seen their governance (Congress alliance) for 10 years. They have seen how they have destroyed this country in those 10 years and brought bad name to Indians across the globe as their Ministers have gone to jail in big scams.
“They brought down the dignity of this country in the world. There was loot everywhere,” Gurjar said.
Reacting to remarks of Rahul Gandhi on Rozgar Mela, he said, “it is good thought to amuse the heart. He can say anything. But Modi is taking every step with a commitment. He ensures every work is completed in a time bound manner.”
The Minister said that the Opposition only blames the Government and levels allegations against it.
“They do all types of negative work. They have no positive attitude,” he added.
The Union Minister said that it was bad luck for the country that they got that multi-party Government earlier.
“Now, the people would not like to have such an alliance Government, which will again erode the dignity of the country and bring a bad name to it,” Gurjar said.
