Two held with illicit liquor in Bishnah

JAMMU, Apr 14: Police claimed today that they have arrested two persons for selling liquor illicitly in Bishnah area of the District.
A police spokesperson said that an information was received through reliable sources that one person Mohinder Kumar of Ratnal, Tehsil Bishnah, was selling Desi JK Whiskey to his customers without any permission.
On this, he said, a team of Bishnah Police Station reached at the spot and apprehended the accused besides recovering from his possession 50 quarters of 180 ml illicit liquor.
The accused has been booked in case FIR number 86/2023 under section 48(a) of the Excise Act registered at Bishnah Police Station.
Meanwhile, in another case, the police spokesperson said that one Vinod Kumar of Karail Manhasan, Bishnah was arrested for selling liquor to his customers illegally near his house.
On this, he said, the accused was arrested from the spot and 9 litres of illicit liquor was recovered from his possession.
Police have booked the accused in case FIR number 87/2023 under sections 48(A) of the Excise Act registered at Bishnah Police Station.
Pertinently, the arrests and seizures were made by a team of Bishnah Police Station led by SDPO RS Pura, Nikhil Gogna, assisted by SHO Bishnah, Vikram Sharma, under the overall supervision of SP Headquarters, Ramnish Gupta.
