Expansion of Bohri Chowk on anvil: Baru

JAMMU, Apr 14: The demands for expansion of historical Bohri Chowk and blacktopping of Hazuribag road will be fulfilled soon, assured BJP senior leader and JMC Councillor Ward-41, Sanjay Kumar Baru during the tour of the Ward along with BJP Shakti Kendra Pramukh, Bubesh Sharma and Booth president, Bachan Lal Bhagat.
During the tour, local shopkeepers requested councillor for early completion of Hazuribag road which was damaged due to the recently completed concrete construction of deep drain from Bohri to Santra Morh nallah, as a result of which they are facing lot of problems due to dust.
After listening to the shopkeepers’ grievances Baru said that construction work of deep drain at Main Hazuribag road has been completed recently by UEED Department at a cost of about Rs four crore and for restoration of damaged road UEED Department has transferred Rs 29 lakh to PWD, after which tender has been floated for blacktopping of this road by PWD.
In view of the old demand of shopkeepers and local residents of Ward No.41 for expansion of the historical Bohri Chowk near Dewan Breweries at Main Talab Tillo, Baru said that work on opening the Bohri Chowk has been already started. After cutting the old trees, electrical poles will be shifted soon and one high mast light for Bohri Chowk is already sanctioned.
He said all these works are being done to make Ward No. 41 a Model Ward and we are nearly to achieve the goal in the remaining term as a Councillor.
Bohri Shopkeepers Association, general secretary, PL Mawa and all shopkeepers appreciated the efforts of local councillor Sanjay Baru.
