Provincial Power Employees Union holds protest

JAMMU, Nov 22: Provincial Power Employees Union (PPEU) held a protest demonstration at Electrical M&RE Division II Gandhi Nagar and condemned the attitude of the higher authorities for harassing the employees.
The protestors led by Shakti Gupta, president, PPEU raised slogans against the higher authorities.
While addressing the gathering, Gupta said that the meter readers duty is to note the reading of meter as per actual reading but the higher authorities pressure to write the reading of 300 unit kw/per consumer and minimum 5 kw load per consuming avoiding the actual reading on meter.
If the meter reader avoids this verbal order, then who will face the Court cases, RTI and public, he questioned.
He said that the union will continue its protest till the harassment will not be stopped by the higher authorities.
Among others present were Ajaz, Sanjeev Bali, Ashok Gupta, Chander Mohan, Satish Sharma, Ajay Singh, Madan Gopal, Ramesh Chander, Sunil Kochar, Rajan Babu, Satish Kumar, etc.
