Fake currency note makers’ gang busted, 3 arrested

JAMMU, Apr 15: RS Pura Police has busted a gang of fake currency note makers gang by arresting three persons and recovering fake currency worth Rs 1,70,000 one sharp-edged weapon and other material.
“Acting on a complaint lodged at Police Station RS Pura by one person namely Ashok Kumar son of Satpal, resident of Ward Number 6 (RS Pura) that some persons are involved in making and circulating fake currency notes in the areas under the jurisdictions of Police Station RS Pura, a case under FIR Number 57/2023 U/S 489A/489B/489C IPC was registered at Police Station RS Pura and investigation started,” a police spokesman said.
He said accordingly, a team of Police Station RS Pura led by SHO RS Pura Inspector Pawan Kumar raided the suspected location and arrested a suspected lady namely Jyoti Devi wife of Vinod Kumar, resident of Devigarh, tehsil Suchetgarh (at present Chang, tehsil Ramgarh, Samba).
“During questioning the lady disclosed that one Mohd Mustaq son of Mohd Aslam, resident of Phinder (RS Pura) and her husband namely Vinod Kumar son of Jeet Raj purchased a coloured scanner cum printer cum photo state machine from Jammu city for making Indian fake currency notes, approximately 6 to 7 months ago,” he said, adding on the disclosure of accused namely Mohd Mustaq, 54 pages of (Bond Super White Hi-Bright Papers) packed shape of rim along with one ‘toka’ was recovered from his house at Phinder and the same property got seized.
The spokesman further informed that on the disclosure of accused namely Vinod Kumar, 1 coloured scanner cum printer cum photo state machine along with 5 colour bottles, fake Indian currency notes of 500 and 200 with total value of Rs 1,70,900, 4 rims (Bond Super White Hi-Bright Papers), ½ rim of white papers (A4 size) were recovered from village Chang and the property got seized.
Later, 201 IPC and 4/25 Arms Act was added in the case registered at Police Station RS Pura. Further investigation of the case was going on.
The whole operation was done under the direct supervision of SDPO Nikhil Gogna and overall supervision of SP Headquarters Ramnish Gupta.
