BJP, NPSU protest against erratic Electricity, water supply

JAMMU, June 18 : Protesting against the shortage of power and water supply in Jammu, the BJP today took out a protest rally in different areas of the city and demanded immediate restoration of basic amenities.
Hundreds of BJP activists took out a protest rally in Bagh-e-Bahu and Gandhi Nagar areas of the city and raised anti-Government slogans.
“It was inhuman of the State Government to curtail the electricity and water supply in this scorching weather”, the protesters alleged.
“The administration which is not being able to provide basic facilities to its masses has no right to be at the helm”, they said.
“It seems that after the move of the darbar to Srinagar, the Coalition Government has diverted the electricity of Jammu to Srinagar”, the alleged.
Meanwhile, another demonstration was held by National Panthers Students Union (NPSU) against the PDD for unscheduled power cuts at New Plots here. The protest was led by Yougesh Talwar , provincial leader NPSU and Sahil Mushtaq its Jammu city vice president.
They strongly criticized the working of the PDD and alleged that sheer discrimination is meted out to Jammu region. “The duration of power cuts extended from 10 to 15 hours a day during this scorching Summer hat has made life of the people a hell’’, said Talwar.
He said the people are having sleepless nights due to power cuts during night hours and the problem is common in every Summer but the authorities have failed to solve the same.
