JAMMU, Nov 22: Chairman Legislative Council, Amrit Malhotra today asked the Power Development Department to ensure power supply to the consumers in Jammu city strictly as per the fixed schedule.
The Chairman was reviewing the power supply scenario of Jammu city at a meeting of officers held here today.
Chief Engineer, PDD and other senior engineers of the department were present on the occasion.
The Chairman instructed the engineers to re-fix the schedule of Warehouse area, which is a business hub of the city, so that the business activities do not hamper. He said the businessmen of the area are resenting for un-scheduled power cuts and are demanding for improving the facility, especially during the evening hours, maintained Mr. Malhotra
The land acquisition for power projects at Jagti and the clearance from concerned departments also came up for discussion in the meeting. He directed the concerned agencies to speed up the process enabling clearance of decks for launching the projects at the earliest.
