SAMBA, Apr 16: Former Minister and J&K BJP Vice-President, Surjeet Singh Slathia, has stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is committed to strengthening inclusiveness and promoting holistic development in Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking at a function to welcome over 200 prominent citizens and political activists into the party fold, Slathia noted that a strong foundation has been laid in recent years, and that the Union Territory will soon witness significant transformation in all sectors.
Slathia highlighted various path-breaking initiatives taken over the past three years for the welfare of the people, and called on those joining the party to take forward its political philosophy in mission mode.
He cautioned against dubious and deceptive political entities that were attempting to derail Jammu and Kashmir’s progress, development, and harmony. He emphasized that the people of the Union Territory were committed to being part of the country’s growth story, with equal opportunities for all, irrespective of region, religion, or caste.
Slathia also referred to the fast-changing landscape of Jammu and Kashmir, after the political developments of August 2019, which paved the way for implementing all schemes in the region, as in other parts of the country.
He noted that the Union Territory is witnessing a discernible transformation in all economic and developmental sectors, with special emphasis on encouraging investments, a crucial point for a region where industrial development has been limited, resulting in low growth and job generation.
Prominent attendees at the function included BJP Samba President Kashmira Singh, President Organization Ankush Jamwal, President Yuva BJP Ankush Mahajan, Mandal, and Co-Convener BJP Sports Cell President Rajeshwar Singh, among others.
