NMC demands release of pending DA installments

JAMMU, Apr 17: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) president, Subash Shastri has appealed to the Lieutenant Governor of J&K to release the pending installments of four per cent DA due from January this year in favour of J&K Government employees and pensioners before the Eid festival as the same have already been released by Central and Ladakh Governments to their employees and pensioners.
“DA is part of salary and routine financial matter and as such there should be no hitch in releasing it,” Shastri said while addressing a meeting of NMC activists here today.
He also demanded exemption of DA from the ambit of Income Tax claiming that it is linked with price index.
The NMC leader also demanded separate wage head for regular disbursement of monthly salary of daily rated workers till their regularization, enhancement of their wages to Rs. 600 per day, regularizing their services under SRO 64, setting up of Labour Welfare Board, implementation of all Central laws in J&K besides hiking Medical Allowance of pensioners to Rs. 1000 per month and releasing 18 per cent DA arrears to employees working with both Central and UT Governments.
Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S Jamwal, Sahib Khajuria, Surinder Kumar, Ramesh Sharma, Sarpanch Sukhdev Singh, Mohammad Sadiq, Mushtaq Ahmed, Tarsem Sharma, J.P Sharma and others were also present in the meeting.
