POONCH, Apr 18:  Ajaz Jan, Provincial president Youth National Conference, Jammu and former MLA Poonch raised serious concern over power outages during Sehri and Iftar across the Poonch and Rajouri district saying the Government’s claim of ensuring regular power during Ramadan has fallen flat.
The senior NC leader today conducted a hectic tour of far flung areas of Haveli Constituency and took stock of the hardships being faced by the general public. The people expressed great disappointment over the callous attitude adopted by the administration for its failure to provide basic amenities to the people. They apprised the senior NC leader about the dismal condition of power and water supply during the ongoing Holy days of Ramadan. People are deprived of regular water and power supply. Besides they also raised serious concern over sky-rocketing prices of essential commodities.
While interacting with people during his visit to far flung areas of Haveli Constituency of district Poonch, the senior NC leader said ever since the holy month of Ramadan has set in, electricity has been playing hide and seek with the consumers particularly during Iftaar, Sehri, and Taraweeh hours. This has put the people to undue trepidation. However, the LG led administration has failed to live up to its promise to ensure adequate power supply to domestic consumers, he said, terming it as a clear sign of an irresponsible approach on behalf of the concerned authorities.
“Prices of vegetables and fruits have skyrocketed. The ground situation is totally contradicting the much hyped claims made by the administration. It is highly regrettable that our administration is unable to provide hassle free essential services and regulate market prices even in this holy month,” he added.
Jan asked the Government to take cognizance of the problems being faced by the people of Haveli Constituency.
