JAMMU, Apr 18: Purnima Sharma, spokesperson Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu and Kashmir and former Deputy Mayor Jammu, has asserted that the Union Government led by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi stands fully committed to the welfare and empowerment of women of the country in general and J&K in particular.
She expressed this while addressing a Mahila Sammelan held on the city outskirts here, today in which she was the chief guest.
While addressing the gathering, Purnima Sharma said that the commitment for women’s welfare and empowerment is evident from the multiple schemes launched by the Centre especially for the welfare of women mostly those residing in rural areas to make them self-reliant in the society. She said that these schemes have been well tailored to suit every section of the society. She said that while BJP Government stands committed to ensure that the benefit of these schemes reaches the last person in the line it is for the womenfolk to come forward and select a scheme of choice to avail the benefit.
Purnima Sharma also made the women aware about the schemes launched by the Government specifically for women. She said that women can avail the benefit of these schemes as these will undoubtedly lead to their empowerment and welfare of the society on the whole.
The senior BJP leader also lauded the women folk for their relentless and dedicated efforts in strengthening Sanatan Dharam movement. She urged them to come forward and further spread the message of Sanatan Dharma by their proactive participation. She said that Sanatan Dharma is the world’s most ancient culture and the spiritual path of almost one billion of the earth’s inhabitants.
Purnima asked the women to further strengthen the hands of PM Modi by supporting BJP in upcoming Assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir.
