JAMMU, Apr 18: Besides prevailing political situation in the UT of J&K, the organizational matters including feedback received during Party’s booth ‘Sushaktikaran Abhiyan’ (strengthening of booth) will figure in two days crucial meeting of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders being held here on April 21 and 22.
The two days meet will be followed by Core Group meeting on April 22. The senior party leaders and Prabharis from Delhi including party general secretary incharge J&K, Tarun Chugh and co incharge, Ashish Sood are likely to be present in the two days meet which is likely to be attended by Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh also.
According to party sources, the meeting will discuss prevailing political situation in J&K as well as organizational matters with focus on various party programmes like ‘Booth Sushaktikaran Abhiyan’ launched by the party to take the policy programmes of Narendra Modi Government to every nook and corner of J&K.
Though no decision has yet been taken by Election Commission of India (ECI) on holding of much talked about Assembly elections in J&K which have now become overdue, the party will, however, devise the strategy and policy programmes in this regard. Party sources said that ECI can take a decision of elections any time hence party should make its cadres ready for the same.
As a run up to coming local body and Panchayat elections due in October –November this year which will be followed by Lok Sabha elections next year, the meeting will also chalk out strategy for the same, sources said.
“BJP is 24x7x365 ready for elections,” said a senior party office bearer. “It is not the question whether Assembly poll will be held this year or not but we have to keep our cadre ready. Our preparation will be useful for Local Body and Panchayat elections to be held later this year and next year’s Parliamentary elections,’’ he added.
Meanwhile, the party national general secretary (Org), B L Santosh held a virtual meeting with party leaders from New Delhi late this evening in which he took a complete feedback of BJP’s programmes including ‘Booth Sushaktikaran’ (strengthening of booths) launched by party on March 10 this year. The programme was to end by April 15 but it was extended to April 30 to reach every booth in the country.
As per sources, B L Santosh has asked the party men to reach out to 100 percent booths i.e all left out booths during the programme. The party so far has reached out 85 percent booths in the UT, sources added.
They said during the booth strengthening programme, booth committees have been framed which will visit every household to apprise the people about the public welfare schemes launched by Narendra Modi Government especially for poor and those people who remained constantly neglected for about seven decades after independence.
Sources said moreover Booth Committee members in their respective booths will meet the beneficiaries of various Narendra Modi Government schemes including Ujwala, Ayushman Bharat, Ujala, PMAY, Jhan Dhan, Mahila Welfare schemes, Sukanya Samiriti etc. The Booth Committees will also frame key voters list in their respective booths and maintain a constant liaison with them.
Sources said the senior leaders from Delhi will hold separate meetings with party office bearers, Morcha presidents and Prabharis, conveners and presidents of different Cells and take stock of the ground work done by them during the booth Sushaktikaran Abhiyan during the two days meet.
This will be followed by Core Group meeting by April 22 in which future strategy of the party will be devised. Sources said the meeting will also put on record various pro-people decisions taken by Modi and LG Government in J&K which included allotment of land to landless people in J&K for Prime Minister’s Awas Yojana houses. Besides, re-launch of encroachment drive by the UT Government will also figure in the meeting.
