DGP sanctions welfare loan

JAMMU, Apr 19: Director General of Police, J&K, Dilbag Singh has sanctioned over Rs 1.14 crore in welfare loan and relief for the benefit of 100 officers and personnel of J&K Police.
The funds were sanctioned under Police Headquarters Order Number 1326 of 2023 with the aim of providing financial assistance to police personnel for their urgent needs.
Out of the sanctioned amount, Rs 73 lakh has been allocated for the medical expenses of 70 personnel and their dependents. Another Rs 29 lakh has been sanctioned for the marriage expenses of 26 personnel and their family members.
Additionally, three personnel have been granted Rs 5.5 lakh as welfare loan for the higher or professional education of their children. Moreover, over Rs 7 lakh has been sanctioned in welfare relief for 38 police personnel.
The welfare loan provided to police personnel is refundable and is recovered through monthly installments from their salaries without any interest. However, the welfare relief is non-refundable. The funds for the welfare loan and relief have been disbursed from the Central Police Welfare Fund.
