Cyclist killed near Chichi Mata, motorcyclist in Kathua

SAMBA, Apr 19: One person died in a road accident near Chichi Mata Temple on the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway near here, today.
According to the information, a person riding a bicycle was coming towards Samba from Chichi Mata temple when an over speeding Superfast Bus coming from Jammu to Kathua, hit him from behind, near the temple.
He got seriously injured. The cyclist was brought to District Hospital Samba in an injured condition with the help of local people and police, where he succumbed to injuries died during treatment.
The deceased has been identified as Rakesh Singh, son of Ishar Singh of Kehli Mandi, Samba. The body of the deceased has been kept in the mortuary for post-mortem at District Hospital Samba. In this context, after registering a case, the police have started further investigation. The police have also arrested the driver and seized the bus.
In another road accident one person was hit by a tipper in Kore Punnu, Kathua today. He has been identified as Lakshman Singh son of Hari Singh of Dolian Jatta, Kore Pannu. The local people and police shifted him to Nagri hospital for first aid but seeing his condition deteriorated he was taken to GMC Kathua where he succumbed to his injuries.
