Police seizes 6.96 grams of heroin, arrests drug peddler

KATHUA, Apr 19: To eradicate the menace of drugs from the society and take stringent action against drug peddlers within the district, Kathua police recovered 6.96 grams of Heroin (Chitta) at Sherpur area under jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Kathua, arrested one person and seized the narcotics on the spot.
A police team led by PSI, Rahul Prashar in charge Police Post (PP) Nagri Parole under the supervision of DySP Headquarters, Kathua, Manjeet Singh & Inspector, Sudhir Sadhotra SHO, PS Kathua during routine naka/patrolling duty in its jurisdictional area at Sherpur apprehended one person namely Lucky Paul, son of Sulinder Kumar of Chak Drab Khan, Kathua who was on way from Kathua towards Sherpur area by foot under suspicious circumstances.
During checking approximately 6.96 grams of Heroin (Chitta) was recovered from his possession. Thereafter all the recovered narcotic substance was seized and one person was arrested. In this regard a case FIR No. 168/2023 U/S 8/21/22/ NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kathua. Further investigation is underway.
