JAMMU, Nov 23: Jammu and Kashmir National Trade Union Front organized its fifth State level conference at Govt Polytechnic Jammu, here today, under the chairmanship of its president Mohd Gafoor Dar.
Delegates from various department and districts, participated in the conference, where thread-bare debate and discussion was held on important issues like regularization of daily rated workers, timely payment of wages and honorarium to Anganwadi workers and helpers etc.
Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Sham Lal Sharma was chief guest in the conference while MLC Devender Singh Rana was the guest of honour.
While addressing the conference, Sham Lal Sharma assured the delegates that demand of regularization policy and left over daily wages was under active consideration of the Government and positive results will be visible on the ground very soon as necessary steps in this regard have already been taken. He stressed upon the employees to work with dedication and honesty to serve the people of the State and said that the Government was very positive about their genuine demands, including the agreement.
MLC Devender Singh Rana assured the delegates that he would make best possible efforts to ensure timely payment of honorarium to ICDS workers and helpers. He also assured on behalf of the Government that the agreement signed between the Government and employees would be implemented.
In his address, Gafoor Dar highlighted various demands of the employees and workers seeking immediate solution by the Government. He appealed Sham Lal Sharma as well as Devender Rana to personally intervene for speedy disposal of the issues.
Earlier, the Front general secretary Ghulam Rasool Geelani presented the report and listed the resolutions passed by the conference.
Prominent among those, who addressed the conference, included Abdul Ahad Bandroo, Rajinder Kumar, Muzaffar Ahmad Ganai, Tariq Ahmed Sufi, Arun Raina, Nazir Ahmed Bhat, Rafiq Ahmed Malik and others.
