Bailable warrant against CE I&FC

Srinagar, Nov 23: The Jammu and Kashmir High Court today issued a bailable warrant against Chief Engineer Irrigation and Flood Control for not implementing a court order.
Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey of the High Court issued the bailable warrant for not implementing the court order (dated 24-09-2013) wherein he was directed to remain present on next date of hearing and file report compliance of a judgment (dated: 16-02-2006).
The bench was hearing  the contempt petition filed by petitioners Mohammad Akram Lone and others V/s State wherein the petitioners seek that respondents be prosecuted and punished for violating the judgment of the Court.
In its judgment (dated: 16-02-2006), the High Court had allowed the petition of petitioners and had directed the respondent department to treat the petitions as work supervisors with effect from the date of their regularization and all monetary benefit, including service benefits under relevant rules be released in their favour after its proper assessment by the authorities.
Respondent State filed appeal against the order which came to be disposed of by the division bench. Thereafter respondent did not implement court order. Compelling the petitioners to file the contempt petition against contemnors.
The court ordered listing of the matter on  29-11-2013 and directed presence of Chief Engineer I&FC through bailable warrants, to the tune of Rs 20000 to be executed by the SSP Srinagar by coercive method.
