JAMMU, Apr 21: Monthly meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teacher/Master Association (JKTMA) was held here today under the chairmanship of UT president Rakesh Singh and general secretary Vivek Gupta.
The meeting was attended by score of Teachers, including District presidents and executive members. While speaking on the occasion, Singh expressed strong resentment against the School Education Department for not considering their long pending demand of DPC of Teachers/Masters to IC Lecturers inspite of many vacant posts of lecturers in Govt Higher Secondary Schools, particularly in Science stream.
This has adversely affected the academic studies of students and even after commencement of new academic session no heed is being paid to DPC by concerned authorities, which is a matter of serious concern, he added and appealed the Commissioner/Secretary SED, Alok Kumar to conduct DPC at earliest for the welfare of students and also to remove stagnation among teachers/Masters.
While inviting attention towards the enrollment drive and New Education Policy, Singh said that in order to attract maximum enrollment in Govt schools, it is necessary to fill all vacant posts of lecturers in Govt Higher Secondary Schools and this is also necessary to implement NEP-2020 on ground in letter & spirit.
Vivek Gupta demanded to update the seniority list of Science subject Lecturers before commencement of DPC after removing all post graduate degrees obtained through distance mode keeping in view recent J&K High Court judgements.
Association also demanded probe in previous DPC lists of Science stream, in which such incumbents are promoted as Incharge Lecturers who have obtained PG degree in Science stream through distance mode/off-campus study centres.
The Association also opposed the policy of SED to promote teachers as Incharge Masters as this will degrade the status of master grade posts and demanded to end this practice by promoting Teachers as full fledge masters as per past practice.
Singh also urged the higher authorities to initiate the process of Rationalisation as per PTR ratio.
