Highway theft case worked out: Police

JAMMU, Apr 21: Police in Chowki Choura area of this District claimed today that they have worked out a theft case and recovered the stolen items.
A police spokesperson said that a complaint was lodged at Police Post Chowki Choura regarding theft of 8 metal beam crash barriers along road side on the National Highway near Chowki Choura.
Accordingly, he said, a case FIR number 121/2023 under section 379 of the IPC was registered at Police Station Akhnoor and further investigation taken up.
Followed by this, he said, special teams of PP Chowki Choura under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Sharma were constituted.
The police spokesperson further said that the teams led by SHO Akhnoor, Inspector Harjeet Singh assisted by incharge Police Post Pankaj Katoch, with the help of CCTV footage and human intelligence arrested two suspects identified as Radhay Sham of Nariya, Maira, Rajouri and Abdul Star of Rani Batar, Thalka, Rajouri, who during sustained questioning admitted their involvement in the crime.
“They also named two other people, Ramjot Singh of Nariya, Rajouri, and Sukhwinder Singh of Maira Rajouri, for their involvement in the crime,” said the police spokesperson.
“On their disclosure, police recovered the 8 stolen metal beam crash barriers in presence of EMIC Chowki Choura,” added the police spokesperson.
