5 Rohingyas detained

JAMMU, Apr 21: At least five Rohingyas, who were staying illegally in Jammu’s Kiryani Tallab area, have been detained, officials said today.
They said on April 20, police learnt information through reliable sources that five persons, identified as Mohammad Ayoub son of Abdul Hamid, Anayat ul Rehman son of Mohammad Ayoub, Hassina Begum wife of Mohammad Ayoub, Noor Nehar wife of Anayat ul Rehman, and Shoket Ara daughter of Noor Mohammad, all residents of Burma, were putting up illegally at Kiryani Tallab area.
Accordingly, a team of Bahu Fort Police Station led by SDPO East, Syed Zaheer Abbas Jaffari, assisted by SHO Bahu Fort, Inspector Shiv Dev Singh reached at the spot and arrested the foreigners, officials said.
“The accused have been booked in case FIR number 126/2023 Under Section 14A of the Foreigner Act,” SHO Bahu Fort, Inspector Shiv Dev Singh told the Excelsior.
The Police officer said the accused entered the Indian Territory by crossing the border illegally from Bangladesh.
