Samba police arrests 2 drug peddlers, seizes heroin

SAMBA, Apr 21 : Under the guidance of SSP Samba, Benam Tosh, police has achieved a success by arresting two drug peddlers and recovering ‘Chitta’ worth rupees 35 thousand approximately from their possession.
The arrested heroin smugglers have been identified as Roshan Lal, son of Kartar Chand of Agar Baba Jitto, district Reasi and Arun Kumar, son of Paras Ram of Pharthal, district Reasi.
A case FIR No. 98/2023 under section 8/21/22 has been registered at Police Station (PS) Bari Brahmana and investigation is underway. Vehicle used for ‘Chitta’ smuggling has also been seized by the police.
Arrested drug peddlers used to purchase ‘Chitta’ from Samba and sell it to the addicts in Katra and adjoining areas of Reasi district on huge margins. They have been arrested by a police team comprising of SHO, Bari Brahmana Sunil Sharma, PSI, Rakesh Singh and PSI, Shakti Singh under the supervision of Additional SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh said that total 27 suppliers of heroin have been arrested in last three months and several others have been booked under relevant sections of law in different FIRs and raids are being conducted to nab them.
