Junaid Mattu joins NC

Srinagar, Nov 24: Junaid Azim Mattu today joined National Conference at a function at NC Headquarters, Nawa-e-Subh along with hundreds of his workers and supporters from Srinagar at the end of an impressive car rally that reached the NC Head Office amidst slogans and fanfare.
Educated in the United States, Mattu, who was an American Green Card Holder and a financial analyst by profession, returned to Kashmir in 2009 to join mainstream politics.
Mattu’s workers and supporters who came from Amira Kadal, Batamaloo, Zadibal and Eidgah constituencies raised slogans in favor of Mattu and the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah after taking Junaid to Nawa-e-Subh in a rally of hundreds of vehicles with NC flags from his residence in Barzalla, making stops in Ram Bagh, Solina, Jawahar Nagar and Raj Bagh where Junaid Mattu interacted with his supporters and sought their blessings.
Mattu was welcomed at Nawa-e-Subh by National Conference addl General Secretary and MLA Hazratbal Dr. Mustafa Kamaal, NC Provisional President and MLA Amira Kadal Nasir Aslam Wani, NC Provisional Vice President North Abdul Rashid Shaheen, District President Srinagar and MLA Zadibal, Peer Afaq Ahmad, Former Mayor and NC youth leader Salman Ali Sagar, District President Youth National Conference Hilal Sofi, Former Deputy Mayor Sajjad Chashoo and various senior functionaries of National Conference.
Welcoming Junaid Mattu to National Conference, Dr. Mustafa Kamal said that Mattu’s grandfather, Ghulam Ahmad Ashai was one of the tallest founders of the party, a visionary educationist and a close associate of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah.
Speaking on the occasion, NC Provisional President and MLA Amira Kadal Nasir Sogami, said that Mattu would get all possible support from the party cadre and functionaries in serving the people of this State.
Junaid Mattu said that the achievements of Omar Abdullah’s Government have been under-marketed and also said that Mufti’s unrealistic and nauseatingly complete investment in the art of marketing-gimmicks needs to be countered with the truth.
