Six bovines rescued

JAMMU, Apr 24: At least six animals were rescued from the clutches of bovine smugglers here, police said today.
They said on the intervening nights of Sunday and Monday, some animal smugglers, who were driving the herd on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, were asked to stop at Suketar Naka, to show their documents but they managed to flee into the darkness.
“While the animals they were moving with have been seized the accused have been booked under Section 188 of the IPC,” SHO Jhajjar Kotli, Azad Manhas told the Excelsior, adding that further investigation is on.
