Executive Committee of Higher Education Council constituted

JAMMU, Apr 25: The Higher Education Department has constituted Executive Committee of Jammu Kashmir Higher education Council (JKHEC).
Vice-Chairman JKHEC, Prof Dinesh Singh is Chairperson of the Executive Committee and its members include Principal Secretary Higher Education Department, Vice Chancellors of all the Universities of J&K, Special Secretary/ Additional Secretary to Government, Higher Education Department, Director Colleges, J&K ( Member Secretary) and Principals (Members of JKHEC).
The Executive Committee shall render all the necessary assistance to Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Council on formulation of policy for a comprehensive and holistic transformation of Higher Education Sector in tune with NEP 2020.
The Executive Committee shall furnish necessary advise to the JKHEC for formulation and implementation of policies, strategize and steer expansion of the Higher Education Institutions. It shall provide necessary assistance to the Higher Education Council for making improvements in curriculum and syllabi including advise on introduction of new courses in accordance with changing academic and industrial requirement, review periodically the Statutes, ordinances and regulations of the Universities of the UT. The committee shall also suggest appropriate changes for the realization of the objectives of NEP- 2020 and to promote framework for institutional accountability through a proper regulatory system.
Further, the Committee shall assist and advise JKHEC in improvising the standards of examination, suggest reforms, devise mechanism for social audit process and public feedback on performance and achievements.
The term of the executive committee shall be for a period of two years or co-terminus with the Higher Education Council, whichever is earlier.
