JAMMU, Nov 25: Crime Branch Jammu has booked a youth for preparing a fake document pertaining to class-IV appointment of the accused in the Housing and Urban Development Department.
A case under section 420, 467, 468 and 471 RPC has been registered against Vijay Kumar of Ghagwal in Samba on a complaint forwarded by Additional secretary H&UDD seeking investigation on a communication, which was not issued by the said department.
This communication, pertaining to appointment of Vijay Kumar as Garden Assistant, had been fraudulently prepared by the accused, who had applied for the post in pursuance of notification dated 12-08-1997 but was not selected.
Feeling aggrieved, he filed a writ petition annexing two references purportedly signed by Secretary and Under Secretary H&UDD justifying his candidature for the said post. On the basis of these references, the writ petition was disposed off with the direction to declare the result of the interview.
However, on verification of these references from the official records, both the documents were found not to have been issued or dispatched by the Department concerned. The investigations established that the accused had intentionally prepared these fake and fabricated references in order to cheat the department and secure his appointment through fraudulent means.
