JAMMU, Apr 27: Residents of Channi Himmat today alleged that they are getting inadequate and erratic water supply for last many months.
“Officials and operating staff of PHE as also Jammu Municipal Corporation have created havoc due to poor, inadequate and erratic supply of an essential commodity like water despite written assurance given to High Court of J&K on a PIL filed against PHE department by us,” said Advocate VK Grover (president of Channi Himmat Residents Association).
He said for the last so many days, rather months the water supply has been interrupted and giving it only on alternate days and that too for 10-15 minutes. He further alleged that there is no time schedule for water supplies, sometimes it is 4 AM, 6 AM, 7 AM or 10:30 AM despite other factors like electricity are running normally.
“We are sure that a nexus between the authorities concerned i.e. PHE and JMC exits with the Water Tank mafia to create artificial scarcity of water,” Grover said while adding that the matter needs to be investigated and the public saved from the existing water crisis.
